Class Day Checklist.

What to bring, what to wear, what to skip. Your kit is provided in class — your job is just to show up ready.

Do bring

  • ✦ Your photo ID
  • ✦ Cash for balance (deposit students)
  • ✦ A notebook + pen — handwritten notes stick
  • ✦ Water bottle (we'll refill)
  • ✦ Phone for filming + photos
  • ✦ A snack if you eat between meals

Don't bring

  • ✕ Your own kit (we provide everything)
  • ✕ Heavy bags — minimal is the move
  • ✕ A guest or +1 (students only)
  • ✕ Hair clients of your own (separate experience)
  • ✕ Stress — leave it at the hotel
  • ✕ Distracting energy or attitude
👗

What to wear

Comfortable, all-black is ideal — you'll be standing and bending most of the day. Closed-toe flat shoes you can stand in for 6 hours. Hair pulled back or out of your face. We take photos at the end of day 1, so dress like you'd be proud to be on the Aavya Instagram.

Client Aftercare Protocol.

The exact instructions you'll give your clients after their install. Copy this into your own client communications — it sets expectations and protects your work.

For Your Clients

Your K-Tip aftercare guide.

First 24 Hours

  • No washing for 48 hours after install
  • No swimming, sauna, or steam rooms
  • Sleep with hair loosely tied in a low pony or braid
  • Don't sleep on wet hair

Weekly Routine

  • Wash 2–3× max per week with sulfate-free shampoo
  • Always condition the lengths — never the bonds
  • Detangle from ends to root with a soft-bristle brush
  • Air dry when possible · cool-shot blow dry when not
  • Silk pillowcase or bonnet at night

Refresh Schedule

  • Every 6–8 weeks: Move-ups (we adjust your bonds as your hair grows)
  • Every 4–6 months: Reinstall (new hair or refreshed installation)
  • Book your next appointment before you leave the salon
Why this matters Clients who follow this protocol keep their extensions twice as long. That's better for their hair, better for your reputation, and better for retention. Print this. Send it. Make it a non-negotiable.

Pricing Starter Template.

A simplified framework for setting your first K-Tip price. Once you've installed for a few clients, upgrade to the full pricing calculator in the VIP toolkit for premium precision.

The simple 3-factor formula.

Materials Cost $X (hair bundles + bonds)
Your Time Hours × your hourly rate
2.5× Multiplier (Materials + Time) × 2.5
Your K-Tip Price Round up to nearest $50
Aavya's note Most stylists undercharge for their first install by 40%. Use this formula, then add another $100 once you've done 5 clients. Premium clients pay premium prices — and they tip better.

DM Script

Your First 30 Days Post-Class.

The roadmap for what to do the moment you leave Atlanta. Skip these steps and your new skill gets rusty fast. Follow them and you'll have paid back your tuition before the month is out.

Days 1–3 · Announce it

Week 1

Post your certification photo. DM your closest clients about the new service. Add K-Tips to your booking menu. Tell your network — Instagram story, Facebook post, text 5 people directly.

Days 4–10 · Practice install

Week 2

Do at least one practice install on a friend or model — free or discounted. Photograph everything. The muscle memory from class fades within 14 days if you don't reuse it.

Days 11–20 · First paying client

Week 3

Book your first paying K-Tip client. Charge your real price from day one — even if it feels uncomfortable. Document the appointment, ask for a testimonial, post the result.

Days 21–30 · Build the rhythm

Week 4

By day 30 you should have 3+ paying clients booked or completed. Source your first bulk hair order. Map out your next 60 days of content. Block consult slots in your weekly calendar.

Student Community

You're not doing this alone.

Every Aavya student gets lifetime access to our private student community — a Facebook group where graduates share installs, ask questions, and refer overflow clients to each other. Link is in your welcome email.
